'Transparency'

Editor, Times-Union:
All I have heard from Commissioner Bob Conley’s opponent is “transparency.” Personally, this strikes me as an odd statement to keep making. To start, Mr. Conley has proven that he upholds transparency. He makes himself very available to the residents of this county. I find him to be open, honest and personable. Things in short supply in politics these days.
His opponent keeps touting this “transparency.” Well, sir, if that is what you have asked for, so be it. You speak of “transparency,” well your actions bring strife and discontent. You are to be an elected official, well, sir, conduct yourself as such. Our county does not need the divisiveness and downright childish behavior that you have been engaging in. We are a small community but a strong community. We need leaders and officials that are people of character and conduct themselves accordingly.
I can not in good conscious vote for him. When he speaks of transparency I find myself thinking of what he has shown himself to be. And that is an individual that is self-serving. Someone that brings a toxic environment along with a divisive agenda. Is he trying to implement some change with his low-rent tactics? Well, I for one have had enough of politicians speaking of “change.” We as a county and a nation have seen what all this speak of “change” does. The change he brings is strife and discord. And things slow to a crawl and then nothing ends up getting done.
He speaks of transparency, well Bob Conley is the clear choice. I will vote for Bob Conley. And will rest well knowing that our county is in capable hands. Why vote for someone that you “think” may do the job right? When you can vote for someone that you know has done, and will do, the job right.
