Township Trustees Offer Help In Emergency Situations

With the government shutdown and SNAP/EBT benefits being withheld, Kosciusko County township trustees are reminding residents they are here to help in emergency situations.
Township residents will need to fill out an application/verification to qualify for assistance, which hasn’t changed. Show the trustees proof that you are currently receiving SNAP/EBT benefits, as this would be very helpful in township assistance for you, according to information provided by Julia Goon, Prairie Township trustee.
Several township trustees do support the local food pantries to purchase grocery items throughout the county with tax dollars also, and several trustees are adding to that this year now.
There are many churches and local business, etc., that are making sure at this difficult time that all food pantries in Kosciusko County are being supplied as well as Combined Community Services and other agencies.
Trustees help in emergency situations with shelter and utilities and more, too. County guidelines follow 100% of Federal Poverty Guidelines for township assistance on your monthly income.
