SILVER LAKE - The town of Silver Lake announced it has been awarded a grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, made possible by The William and Helen Dye Endowment Fund, in the amount of $10,000.
The funds will be used to construct a new community center in the town. The center will focus on resources, services and recreational needs of all ages, from youth to senior citizens.
“This grant will allow us to impact our community and surrounding areas by giving citizens a safe environment to receive resources, participate in outreach programs, learn through educational and skill development workshops, engage in recreational activities and have social interactions that will combat loneliness. The project would not have been possible without the grant awards received, and we are grateful for the support of the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, which has enabled us to build a center focused on serving our citizens. Their generosity means so much to Silver Lake,” according to a statement in the news release from the town.
