Tommy D. “Tom” Burkett Sr., 73, Warsaw, formerly of Pierceton, passed away at 4:21 a.m. Feb. 25, 2016, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw. He was born May 1, 1942, in Martin, Ky., to Allen and Magdaline Judd Burkett. He attended public schools in Kentucky and moved to the Pierceton area 50 years ago from Kentucky. He formerly worked for Par-Kan, Ameri-Kan, and Lewis Salvage in Warsaw and at various other jobs as a welder. Surviving are three daughters: Rhonda Hackworth and Sondra (and spouse Bobby) Warner, all of Burket, and Susie (and spouse Brad) Bibler, Warsaw; three sons: Tom (and Noeurn Ruot) Burkett Jr., Warsaw; Glenn (and spouse Donna) Burkett, Pierceton; David (and spouse Trina) Burkett, Tippecanoe; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Liz (and spouse Tim) Campbell, South Whitley; Alice (and spouse Jerry) Sparks, Baileyton, Tenn.; and Carol (and spouse Gordon) Akers, Imlay City, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Burkett.
