Tom Carter, 75, of Warsaw, died at 5:21 p.m. June 28, 2011, in his residence.
He was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Warsaw, to Nick and Olive Bennett Carter. He married Lois Ritter in 1960 in Oregon.
He was a lifetime Warsaw resident. He was a machinist for DePuy Inc., Warsaw, where he retired in 1989. He was a Korean Conflict veteran, serving with the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of the American Legion John C. Peterson Post 49, Warsaw, and a member of the Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association and Warsaw Eagles.
Surviving are a son, Ted (and spouse Jan) Carter, Leesburg; a sister, LaVerna Bennett, Elkhart; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. July 23, 2011, with military rites rendered by American Legion Post 49, VFW Post 1126 and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
No calling is scheduled.
