AKRON - Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation extended its gratitude to Ford Motor Company and Kerlin Ford of Silver Lake for their support and time during the recent Drive 4 UR School fundraiser held Sept. 12.
Thanks to the participation of community members who came out to test drive vehicles, the event raised $4,140. For each test drive, Ford donated $30 to the school-funds that will directly benefit student programs, academic competitions and special incentives for both students and staff, according to a news release from the school district.
Rick Kerlin, of Kerlin Ford, said, "We like to do it to give back to the community and it's a great opportunity to help out the students."
His commitment to supporting local education is appreciated, the release states. Participation in the Drive 4 UR School program is dealer-driven, with Ford providing the funding. Tippecanoe Valley is grateful to Kerlin Ford for choosing to take part and for their continued dedication to the community, according to the release.
Brandon Kresca, principal of Tippecanoe Valley High School, said, "We are incredibly thankful for the support from Kerlin Ford and Ford Motor Company. Their generosity helps us create meaningful opportunities for our students and reinforces the strong partnership between our schools and the community."
