Tippecanoe Valley School Board Reviews Grants And Personnel Matters For Monday’s Meeting

AKRON – During its work session on Thursday, Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. highlighted what it wanted to get approved during its regular meeting Monday.

The school board will vote Monday to accept two grants for the district. The first grant is for $1,000 from the?Kosciusko Community Foundation for Tippecanoe Valley Middle School’s functional life skills cooking program. The second grant is for $2,500 from Kosciusko Community REMC Roundup for Viking Vittles.

The school board will vote on several new hires. They are Shannon Samuels, instructional assistant, Mentone Elementary; Breanna Martin, instructional assistant, Mentone Elementary; Midori Lee, instructional assistant, Akron Elementary; Melinda Kruger, custodian, Tippecanoe Valley High School; and Patricia Rudolph, custodian, TVHS.

The board will be asked to vote for the approval of John Kauffman’s extracurricular assignment to the sixth-grade girls basketball assistant coach at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School.

During Monday’s meeting, the school board will spotlight student Quintin Allen for IUPI Molecular Medicine in Action, which is a competition in Indianapolis, said TVSC Superintendent Blaine Conley. Allen won an award during the competition.

“He’s a pretty neat kid and I remember him from middle school when I was a principal over there,” Conley said, saying Allen is a pretty active kid as he is also in the band.
