Tippecanoe Valley Nipped By NorthWood Panthers

NAPPANEE – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team fell 51-45 Wednesday in a makeup game at potential Class 3A Sectional 21 opponent NorthWood.

Valley was outscored 15-6 in the first quarter and was down 24-17 at halftime.

The Vikings pulled off a 16-4 third quarter to take a five-point lead, but were outscored by 11 in the fourth for the loss.

Tanner Trippiedi scored a team-high 15 points for Valley (11-9), while Parker Dalrymple had 13 points and Cameron Parker added nine points.

Ben Vincent scored a game-high 20 points for the Panthers (7-12), while Trent Edwards had 11 points.

Valley will play Friday at Triton.

Trojans Burnt By Dragons

BOURBON – Tye Orsund scored 15 points, but the Triton boys basketball team lost 46-35 Wednesday at Argos.

The Trojans (7-10) trialed 18-8 after the first quarter, and scored no points in the second quarter to go down 27-8 by halftime. 

Triton outscored the Dragons (15-4) 13-8 in the third quarter, but never threatened their lead. 

Keegan Westafer had eight points and nine rebounds for the Trojans.

Argos’ Sam Manikowski and Ian Kindig each scored 13 points.

Triton will host Tippecanoe Valley Friday.

Whitko Wildcats Rout North Miami Warriors

DENVER – The Whitko boys basketball team won 83-57 Wednesday at North Miami.

Whitko (10-9, 5-3 Three Rivers Conference) has won eight of its last 10 games. 

The Wildcats won 82-26 in the JV game. Keith Miller led Whitko with 20 points, while Andrew Swartz scored 16 points and Kylar Bryant added 12. 

Whitko will play Saturday at county rival Churubusco.
