AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation was recognized as a Riley Corporation through Riley Hospital for Children, said Superintendent Blaine Conley Thursday.
“All of our schools participated in that and a dollar per student was sent (to the hospital). This has been several years in a row that we’ve been recognized as a corporation,” Conley said. “We all know kids that have benefited from Riley and we appreciate that. Our building principals and our student council do a great job of doing some fundraisers and things.”
On Monday, the Tippecanoe Valley School Board will hear an update on the Tippecanoe Valley High School facilities construction project from Fanning Howe.
Also Monday, the Board will be asked to approve several donations and grants.
The biggest donation is for $1,685 from CORE Mechanical for TVHS girls soccer uniforms.
Several Kosciusko Endowment Youth Services (KEYS) grants will also need approval by the Board. They include $1,329 for ukuleles for the music program at Akron Elementary School, $429 for electric circuit kits for hands-on science at TVHS and $250 for materials and books for the preschool curriculum at Mentone Elementary.
