AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley High School announced Lindsay Petersen as the valedictorian and Cassie Rich as the salutatorian of this year’s graduating class.
These students have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership and dedication throughout their high school careers, according to a news release from Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation.
Lindsay Petersen, daughter of Mike and Sarah Petersen, earned the distinction of valedictorian through her consistent commitment to academic excellence, stated the release. Lindsay plans to attend Huntington University, where she will major in animal science and minor in agribusiness.
Lindsay said, “As I look ahead, I am most excited for the new experiences and opportunities college will provide. Although the change is stressful, I continuously thank my parents for their endless support and know they will aid in making this transition smooth. I also want to thank my grandparents for showing up to every game, contest, awards and events I have been involved in. I have been supported by both coaches and teachers, pushing me to strive in all areas.”
As salutatorian, Cassie Rich, daughter of Jason and Anna Rich, has also exemplified academic dedication and intellectual curiosity, stated the release. Cassie plans to pursue studies in software development or mathematics and will attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Cassie said in the next five to 10 years, “I hope to see myself having a lot of experience within my chosen field and making a meaningful impact on people. ”
Both students have served as role models within the Tippecanoe Valley High School community, balancing coursework with involvement in school and community activities.
