According to a probable cause affidavit, on June 9 Warsaw Police Department officers received reports of ammunition casings found near Market and Lake streets. Officers recovered eight spent 9 mm ammunition casings and one unspent bullet from the area. A building sustained broken glass and damaged drywall from the firearm rounds. Two vehicles also sustained damage from the bullets.
WPD officers also received reports of ammunition casings found near Winona Avenue and Buffalo Street. Officers located one 10 mm ammunition casing in the area.
Through their investigation, detectives determined that on June 7 Meadows drove a Dodge Charger and a subject threw a brick that damaged the vehicle. Meadows believed Tackett caused the damage to the vehicle. Meadows and Tackett communicated through Facebook messages, and on June 8 Tackett told Meadows, “You’re either going to jail or going to die.”
A detective talked with Tackett. Tackett said Meadows, Arnold and one other person found him. Tackett said Meadows and Arnold stole a chain necklace from around his neck during an altercation.
Detectives obtained Arnold’s social media post from June 8 that showed a picture of a chain necklace.
Detectives reviewed surveillance video near Market Lake streets and determined on June 8 Tackett sat on the windowsill of a vehicle and Tackett shot over the top of the vehicle at Meadows as he drove the Dodge Charger.
Detectives reviewed surveillance video near Winona Avenue and Buffalo Street that showed both vehicles in the area and five gunshots were heard in the vehicle.
Tackett admitted he saw Meadows driving the Dodge Charger on June 8. Tackett grabbed a 9 mm handgun and shot at least once at the Dodge Charger.
