SYRACUSE – Thomas D. “Tom” Miller, 62, Syracuse, passed away at 2:22 p.m. Nov. 7, 2014, at Avalon Village Healthcare, Ligonier.
He was born Aug. 22, 1952, in Elkhart, to Roy “Doc” Jr. and Mary J. Robinson Miller. On June 23, 1979, in Kokomo, he married Jill Elaine Snodgrass, who died June 6, 1991.
He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident. He graduated in 1971 from Wawasee High School, Syracuse, and  attended Grand Rapids, Mich., Community College.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was formerly employed at Jasper Plastic Solutions, Syracuse, for two years and Godfrey Marine, Syracuse, for several years.
He formerly attended Grace Lutheran Church,  Syracuse, and was a former member of American Legion Post 223, Syracuse.
Surviving are two sons, Travis Miller, Syracuse, and Edward (and spouse Kacey) Miller, Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandsons, Luke Jack Miller and Travis A. Miller Jr.; and a brother, Jon (and spouse Mandie) Miller, Leesburg. He was also preceded in death by a son, Andy Miller.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, with Pastor Robert Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, officiating. Military rites from the Syracuse American Legion Post 223 will follow the service.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
