Third Friday’s Downtown Hoedown Country theme was a way for Main Street Warsaw to partner with the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department for the country concert.
The free concert at Central Park, which raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, featured double headliners Confederate Railroad and Kentucky Headhunters.
Nora Christiansen, Main Street Warsaw events coordinator, said, “(Recreation Director) Stephanie (Schaefer) and her team do a great job with the concert in the park, so we’re trying to make sure we are complementing each other.
She stated people could go back and forth between the two areas and “and wear your cowboy boots and have a good time.”
Christiansen said she always meets with Schaefer and the two talk about what each other is doing. She hopes collaborating between Third Friday and the concert series helps make sure people enjoy both events.
During the Third Friday event, there were vendors lining along the courthouse lawn.
The Magical Meadows also joined in on the event to help raise money for their capital campaign.
“And so they have their pony here and a little obstacle course,” Christiansen said.
Also, ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) brought mini-bikes for kids to ride.
Cindy Clinton-Kinser and Matt Smith, from Art of Dance, taught and led people in line dancing.
