MENTONE – Theresa K. Alber, 53, of 10269 W. CR 800S, Claypool, died at 11:35 a.m. March 30, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born Nov. 14, 1958, in Fulton County, to Richard E. “Dick” and Juanita Fear Boganwright. On June 12, 1976, in the Talma United Methodist Church, she married Randy Alber, who survives in Claypool. She was the bookkeeper for Alber’s Porting and Machine that she and Randy owned. She graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1977. She was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, where she was a teacher at the preschool in earlier years. She was a 4-H leader for the Beaver Dam 4-H Club. She was a township trustee board member as well as on the board for the Mentone EMT. She served as a teacher’s aid and the athletic director at Akron Elementary School. She was the first president of the all-sports booster club at Tippecanoe Valley High School. She enjoyed sewing and doing alterations, which included uniforms and banners for the school. Also surviving are her mother, Juanita I. Boganwright, Claypool; two sons, Derek and Daren Alber, both of Claypool; a daughter, Dana (and spouse Todd) Meyer, Frankton; a brother, Tim (and spouse Sara) Boganwright, Claypool; a granddaughter, Abby Meyer; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, with Pastor Butch Troke officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
