PIERCETON - Teresa J. Rowe, 50, of Pierceton, died at 9:15 a.m. March 25, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Jan. 7, 1959, in Elizabethtown, Ky., to Jim and Gertrude Deas Story. In June 1997, in Warsaw, she married Virgil Rowe, who survives.
Moving to Pierceton from Lake Wales, Fla., in 1990, she was a homemaker, was a caregiver in a group home for Cardinal Center, Warsaw, and worked in the food service field most of her life. She loved her family, crafts, gardening, cooking, genealogy, animals and Ritters Ice Cream.
Also surviving are three daughters: Julie (and spouse Scott) Johnston, Claypool; Jordyn Mastropietro, Pierceton; and Crystal Rowe, Columbia City; six sons: Steven Waid Jr. and Jimmy Waid, both of Lake Wales; Trevor Mastropietro, Collamer; Daniel Lord, Etna Green; Virgil Rowe Jr. and Michael Rowe, both of Columbia City; two sisters, Donna Anderson and Page Story (and spouse Shane) Himes, all of Warsaw; three brothers, Todd (and spouse Sharon) Story, Babson Park, Fla., and Marc and Douglas Story, both of Lake Wales; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dub and Sam Story.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, officiated by Pastor Aaron Story, Teresa's nephew. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
