MILFORD – A Milford teen was killed Monday evening after entering the path of a train.

Samuel Allen Pamer, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office from injuries suffered in the incident.

Milford Police Department and Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team are investigating the train-pedestrian accident, according to a news release from Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

Milford police officers responded to the incident at approximately 6:30 p.m. near the Syracuse Street rail crossing in Milford. Upon arrival, officers located a Norfolk Southern train stopped north of the Syracuse Street crossing.

Norfolk Southern officials reported they believed that a male subject entered the path of the train and was hit south of that rail crossing. The person – later identified as Pamer – was found and pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation, according to the release.

The Milford Police Department was assisted by Kosciusko County FACT, KCSD, Syracuse Police Department, Milford Fire Department and Lutheran EMS.
