Editor, Times-Union: I read sometimes that our leaders in Washington D.C. and maybe even our state representatives misappropriate taxpayer money, but not our neighbors, our friends. The voters have entrusted our elected officers to select the best people, but do they. Several years ago, the city of Warsaw had a problem with one of their employees, did the city ever get any of that money back. I don’t remember if the city did. Now the same thing has happened at our school system. I can’t believe nobody noticed a purchase of over 16,000 gallons of kitchen drain chemicals. Where was the check and balance on that order. I know I shouldn’t complain, I’m only a taxpayer. I’m afraid that nothing will change. “Business as usual,” if that happens, please raise my taxes so someone else can mishandle my tax money.
