Syracuse Woman Killed In Ind. 13 CrashCLAYPOOL - A 79-year-old woman from Syracuse was killed Thursday in a one-vehicle crash near the intersection of Ind. 13 and Ind. 14.
Her name was not released Thursday afternoon pending notification of next of kin, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 12:11 p.m. Thursday, a 2006 Cadillac DTS was traveling south on Ind. 13 when the vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole, the news release states. First responders rendered first aid to the female driver, but they were unable to save her. Investigators believe the driver was suffering a medical event at the time of the crash.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing by the Kosciusko County FACT Team.
Responding to the crash were the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Sydney Fire Department, Parkview EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
