Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber Unveils Mural By Local ArtistsSYRACUSE – On Monday, the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber unveiled a mural created by local artists and residents Tammy and Katherine Kratzer.
The mural was created over the winter on a large wooden board in the shop of Tammy Kratzer. It features native flowers and a dragonfly with the wording Syracuse IN along one side to inspire visitors to take a picture and share, according to a news release from the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce.
The mural was placed on Mother's Day by Tammy's son, Jesse Swain. It is situated on the edge of the building in the alleyway between the Huntington Street Bar and Grill and Wild Thing Tax, and it can be easily seen from Ind. 13N in the uptown area of Syracuse. The building is owned by Ben Plikerd, who added other enhancements to make the area ready for the mural.
This is the first of many murals to come in the Syracuse area as part of the Chamber & Towns placemaking plan, the release states.
“Be sure to stop by and take a picture with it and tag #ClearlyKC to show others what is happening in Northern Kosciusko County,” the release concludes.
