SYRACUSE – The Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce announced that Executive Director Renea Salyer is introducing a special event to celebrate Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday is a national shopping day that takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It originated in 2010 by American Express and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019. This shopping day encourages consumers to shop small and support their local communities.
Registration may be completed on the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce webpage at SWChamber.com. Those who register before Nov. 19 will receive $10 off the $35 registration fee and a complimentary long-sleeved event T-shirt. Event day registration will also be available following Nov. 19, including on-site Nov. 27, for $35 and at that time, no shirts will be available.
The event will take place at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 North Long Drive, Syracuse, on Nov. 27. Participants may register at 8 a.m. with the run/walk beginning at 9 a.m. Following the event, awards for the top male and female in the various age categories will take place at 10 a.m.
In addition, each and every participant will receive $10 in Local Bucks to spend at the participating business of their choice.
