A Syracuse man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend in February.

Benjamin Jay Waldbeser, 35, of 3705 E. Bowser Road, Syracuse, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:09 a.m. Wednesday for intimidation, a level 6 felony, with a bond of $100,250.

On Feb. 7, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Michael Fowler spoke with a woman in regards to her ex-boyfriend, Waldbeser, intimidating her.

She said she was moving out of the residence they shared when he told her she needed to stay so he could control her. The woman also said Waldbeser had been physical with her in the past.

On Feb. 7, Waldbeser began sending her a series of threatening text messages.  According to court papers, the first message from Waldbeser said, “start making some better decisions before you really (expletive) your life up or I will for you. You forget I know where the (expletive) you live.”

In another message, he allegedly threatened to “stick a gun barrel down” her throat.

A warrant for Waldbeser’s arrest was issued Feb. 22, with his bond set at $100,000 surety and a $250 cash bond.
