Survey Open To Address Broadband Connectivity Issues In Michiana

Posted
SOUTH BEND - The Michiana Area Council of Governments has launched a new Regional Broadband Initiative asking the public to fill out a survey to explore connectivity issues within the region. The survey will help regional leaders identify areas where broadband connections are weak or nonexistent, according to a news release from MACOG.

“The pandemic has shown us how important it is to have regionwide connectivity to do schoolwork, work from home or manage a business,” James Turnwald, MACOG executive director, stated. “Each county has broadband concerns. This survey will help us identify where those problems exist and to what extent.”

The survey is open and available online at www.macog.com/broadband. It will remain open until July 16.

MACOG is working with the Purdue Center for Regional Development. The data from this survey will be used to create a report summarizing the findings and making recommendations to attract service providers to offer expanded service and higher speed options.
