Editor, Times-Union: I am happy to see that the legislature is finally addressing the issue of carryout alcohol sales on Sunday. Indiana is the only state in the country where you can buy a drink at a bar on Sunday but are not permitted to purchase alcohol at the store to drink at home. It just does not make sense. On top of that, every single state bordering Indiana permits Sunday alcohol sales. I hope our legislature will use some Hoosier common sense and change this law. There is absolutely no logical reason to allow the purchase of alcohol six days of the week but not on the seventh. It is finally time for Sunday sales in Indiana! James Schoeff Warsaw, via email
