Strange Man Enters Woman’s Home, Asks To Be Arrested, Use BathroomA man was arrested last Friday for entering a woman’s home and asking to be arrested, about 10 days after being arrested for threatening a police officer.

Justin Riley West, 27, Knox, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 8:53 a.m. Jan. 25 for residential entry, a level 6 felony, and criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor. He has been released on his own recognizance, with an initial hearing set for 1 p.m. Feb. 21.

On Jan. 25, Warsaw Police Department officer Charles Hodges responded to a complaint in regards to a person breaking into a home.

Upon arrival, officers talked with the victim who said the suspect – later identified as West – was in her bathroom. He came out of the bathroom with his hands up and laid on the floor face down so an officer could take him into custody.

The victim said that while she was in her bedroom, she heard a loud bang, followed by screaming and yelling. As she came out of the bedroom, she saw West pacing back and forth in the kitchen. He said he was cold and just wanted to go to jail. At her request, West sat on the couch while she called 911.

West told the victim he needed to use the bathroom. As he stood up, he handed her one of her kitchen knives. West did not use the knife to threaten her, according to court documents filed Tuesday.

West was arrested earlier this month after officers found him yelling about torturing dead bodies and threatening to kill an officer.

Charges against him in that case include intimidation on a law enforcement officer, a level 6 felony; and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

His address for that arrest was listed as Warsaw.
