Stillwater Extends Services

Posted

FORT WAYNE — Stillwater Hospice, a nonprofit provider of hospice care in Northeast Indiana, announced its expansion into Steuben County.
This strategic expansion allows Stillwater to bring its holistic, patient-centered care to more communities across the region. Residents of Steuben County will now have access to the same hospice services.
Founded in 1888 in Fort Wayne, Stillwater is serving patients and families in need in Northeast Indiana.
“We are honored to extend our services to Steuben County,” said Leslie Friedel, CEO of Stillwater Hospice. “Our team is committed to ensuring that every individual receives access to compassionate hospice care. This expansion reflects our deep belief that patients and families should have the choice to select a nonprofit, community-based, hospice organization to care for themselves or their loved ones.”
New services available in Steuben County include:
• In-home hospice care provided by experienced nurses, social workers, spiritual care counselors and volunteers;
• 24/7 on-call support for patients and families;
• Bereavement counseling and caregiver support; and
• Community-based palliative care
The expansion is part of Stillwater’s strategic efforts to address the growing need for nonprofit hospice services in rural and underserved areas of Indiana, the provided release states.
