Stephen “Steve” Allan Devenney, 65, of Warsaw, passed away at 7:15 p.m. July 12, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. He was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Warsaw, to Robert Ray and Inez Marie Galbreath Devenney. On Feb. 18, 1966, he married Barbara “Barb” Jean Fox, who survives in Warsaw. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he worked at Penguin Point Franchise Systems, Warsaw, for 47 years, up until his passing, most recently for the past number of years as chief operations officer. He was a 1965 graduate of Warsaw High School and attended Indiana Business College, Fort Wayne, graduating in 1968 with an associate’s degree. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, where he was involved in the Stephen Ministries. He was the past chairman of the Kosciusko County American Red Cross, a member of the Indiana Restaurant Association, a past member of the Mizpah Shrine and was one of the founders of the Business Alliance Education Foundation. He will also be lovingly remembered by a daughter, Jonelle Marie (and spouse Steven) Noble, Lansing, Mich.; a son, Brett Allan Devenney, Claypool; and six grandchildren: Alexis, Sierra, Reagan and Olivia Devenney, and Keagen and Eli Noble. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Ray Devenney, in 1973; a brother, James E. Devenney, in 2006; and a sister, Sharon Lynn Scott, in 2010. Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 179 S. Indiana St., Warsaw, officiated by Pastors Toni Carmer and Scott Carmer. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
