I have seen some slick politicians, but I must say Congressman Souder ranks right up there with the best at avoiding the general working-class public. The congressman meets regularly with special interest groups. There is nothing particularly wrong with addressing the needs of special interest groups, but what about the rank and file?
Has everyone forgotten about the concept of town meetings for addressing the problems of the general working class?
I see Congressman Souder handing out special grants to certain groups. But, what I don't see is the Congressman having any "you all come" meetings.
I have visited his office several times on the day presumably he might show up even when congress is not in session. Never saw him, but only a receptionist who never seems to know anything and can only say that she will pass on my questions to the Congressman. Surprise, surprise, I have never gotten an answer to any of them. Somehow, I think this Democracy thing is highly over rated.
