More than 70 people participated in the Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District's paper shredding event.
The Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District Board heard that news at its meeting Tuesday.
The paper shredding event was held on Wednesday, Aug. 6 with 72 people bringing items to dispose of.
In other business, the board:
• Heard that new KCSWMD Education, Outreach and Marketing Coordinator Janelle Meyer is working on building relationships with area schools.
• Is having Green Wave take over the county's electronics recycling from current provider ERI. With Green Wave handling the recycling, services will be expanded, with the district putting out more information in the future.
The district will also have another tire recycling event from Monday, Sept. 15 through Friday, Sept. 19. Patrons are asked to bring no more than eight tires during the event.
The board's next meeting is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the depot.
