SOUTH WHITLEY – Ellie Snep scored 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, and Whitko showcased stalwart defense in a 46-33 home Three Rivers Conference win Friday over Wabash.
“(I’m) proud of everyone, but in particular I am so happy for our four seniors,” said Whitko coach Rick Bragg. “All four of them played extremely well tonight, as they were able to play their last home game and walk away with an impressive win."
Whitko led 13-7 after the first quarter and 23-16 at halftime.
Wabash tied the score at 31 after the third, but Whitko outscored Wabash 15-2 in the fourth for the victory.
Emalee Duggins scored 12 points for the Lady Wildcats (5-16, 1-3 TRC), while Sarah Hewitt had eight points and Kayla Schipper added seven.
Snep three shy of reaching 300 rebounds in a season.
BOURBON – The Triton girls basketball team got off to a slow start and lost 56-13 Friday in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference home game against North Judson.
Triton (6-15, 5-2 HNAC) was outscored 13-0 in the first quarter and 20-7 in the second to go into the break down by 26.
North Judson (17-3, 6-0 HNAC) cruised to victory in the second half.
Lilliann Frasure scored a game-high 16 points for North Judson, while Jaela Faulkner led Triton with five points.
NAPPANEE – Judah Simfukwe scored 16 points to lead the Warsaw freshman boys basketball team to a 40-26 win Thursday in a Northern Lakes Conference matchup at NorthWood.
Jack Yeager and Hunter Rice each scored seven points for the Tigers (14-1, 6-0 NLC), while Kyle Dawson added five points.
