From their first meeting on the lawn of the Kosciusko County Court House on April 15, 2009, this group of fellow citizens have shown how you can make a difference. When they started, they had no idea how to proceed with getting their message out.
After attending the Indiana Primary Senatorial Debate on Saturday, I can attest they have learned quickly how to get their message out. The debate, covered by radio stations WIOE, WOWO, WGN, FOX national news and several regional newspapers enabled many to hear the debate.
As I observed at the first gathering on the court house lawn and again witnessed Saturday, those in attendance were every-day American citizens that were saying, we've lost many of our freedoms and government spending and regulation is out of control. They conducted themselves as citizens of our great country are permitted by meeting together to let their voices be heard. It mattered little which candidate they supported, all supported less government control and less spending.
Dr. Michael Harstine's handling of the debate was splendid. His questions pointed to the real issues our country faces and the resulting answers from the candidates penetrated the shield so often used by our elected leaders. Each of us in attendance were able to judge for ourselves the responses, and also gain an insight into the character and personalities of those seeking to be our voice in Washington, D.C.
Congratulations to those that took the lead and provided us the opportunity to raise our voices and to let our elected leaders know that we in Kosciusko County will be silent no more. After the debate, we had a chance to register our vote and I agree with the results indicating that Marlin Stutzman answered the questions directly with responsible well-thought-out ideas and with a balanced approach. I have known Marlin for many years and his conservative values and reasoned ideas are needed in Washington, D.C.
