BOURBON – Shirley Ellinger Morris, 76, Bourbon, passed away Nov. 21, 2016, at home after an illness. She was born April 7, 1940, in Plymouth, to Kenneth and Eldonna Inks Ellinger. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School in 1958. On Nov. 5, 1959, she became the bride of James Morris; he passed away March 17, 2005. She was a member of Bourbon American Legion Auxiliary; she dressed as a clown for years in Bourbon Summerfest Parade. She was a homemaker until 1977, when she went to work as office manager of Lawmaster Bros. Roofing. Jim and Shirley purchased the business in 1994 and she worked until 2005, when she retired. Family, friends and neighbors were the love of her life. She loved to bake for family and friends and would help any way possible. She loved Halloween with kids – she would dress up and make special bags with treats and apples. She also loved Christmas and spoiling grandkids, and loved to eat with family and friends. She was always proud of her yard and flower gardens. She will be missed by all in the community. She is survived by two sons, Brent (spouse Cami) Morris, Menomonee Falls, Wis., and William Morris (Kris Murphy), Rochester; grandchildren: Heather (spouse Josh) Bradley, Rochester; Drew Morris, Morristown, N.J.; and Cole Morris, Philadelphia; great-grandchildren: Kenzie, Kendyll and MaKenna, all of Rochester; and special neighbors Bob, Kelley, Marissa and Emma Ross. She was preceeded by her husband, James, in 2005; her son Randy in 2005; and her stepfather, Harold (Spike) Inks. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with Pastor Mark Cottrill of Bourbon United Pentecostal Church officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bourbon.
