Shirley Ann Kolesiak, 71, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:01 p.m. March 1, 2013, in her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 20, 1942, in South Bend, to Sylvester and Sophie Romanowski Leda. On Feb. 23, 1963, she married Ernest Theodore Kolesiak, who survives. A resident of Kosciusko County for the past 39 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. She had a deep faith in God and the Catholic Church, and was a member of the Rosary Alter Society. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed lunches with her tennis friends. She was also involved in the Welcome Wagon and a member of the Gourmet Club. She loved to follow the Notre Dame Women’s Basketball team, as well as Notre Dame football. She loved gardening and had an unforgettable laugh, but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren. Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Romine and Karen (and spouse Kurt) Kratzsch, all of Warsaw; a son, Michael (and spouse Shannon) Kolesiak, Akron; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison St, Warsaw, celebrated by Father Phil DeVolder. A private graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
