AKRON – Shirley A. Adamson, 78, Akron, died at 7:28 p.m. March 25, 2016, at Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born July 7, 1937, in Fulton County, to Kenneth and Mary Royer Luckenbill. On July 23, 1960, in Argos, she married Richard L. Adamson, who survives in Akron.
She had worked for Chamberlain and Wen Products, Akron, for 42 years. She also worked in Republican politics. She was a graduate of Akron High School in 1955.
She enjoyed flower gardening, painting, decorating, collecting antiques, playing solitaire and repurposing many things. She spent her life helping others. She loved spending time with family and her dog Maggie.
Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy Lukenbill, Akron, and Judy (and spouse Bruce) Grindle, Syracuse; two nephews: Daniel (and spouse Sherri) Grindle, Millersburg, and Jeff Grindle, all of Fort Wayne; and a niece, Kathy (and spouse Norman) Prater, Akron. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Luckenbill.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
