I have been following the recent letters regarding the proposed closing of CR 100E and the potential opening of a homeless shelter. I am very supportive of the court of public opinion, especially if done in an informed and respectable manner. Thus, I look forward to continued interaction between all concerned parties.
However, I would like to back up a couple of weeks and revisit an old news item, lest our local law enforcement personnel, and their families, think they are less important than the issues mentioned above.
Specifically, the first anniversary (Nov. 12) of the death of Sgt. Jeffery Shaw of the Kosciusko Sheriff's Dept.
Thanks goes to the Times-Union for their excellent coverage and photos of the memorial event. I was very moved by the beautiful, personal tribute letters written by Angie Shaw and other family members and will continue to pray for God's comfort to the family.
Angie, Nickolas and Isabella: On behalf of the county of Kosciusko, please accept our heartfelt gratitude for Jeff's service and sacrifice.
To all law enforcement personnel: We appreciate you and your daily sacrifices on our behalf. Thank you!
