Sgt. Rick Oliver Retires From Sheriff’s Department

Kosciusko County Sheriff Jim Smith congratulates Sgt. Rick Oliver on his retirement from the sheriff’s office after 29 years of service.
Oliver started his career as a jail officer in 1996 and also became a reserve deputy from 1997-99. In 2000, Oliver became a patrol deputy and moved up to the rank of shift sergeant. Oliver finished his career in the patrol division as a sergeant. Oliver also served as a SCUBA diver and also SWAT commander from 2019-25.
Smith said, “I want to thank Rick for his 29 years of service to the citizens of Kosciusko County. His dedication, work ethic, and leadership will be missed but we also want to wish him well in his next chapter of life.”
Oliver stated, “First, I want to thank everyone for everything over the years. The Sheriff’s Office is like a second home to me and I consider you all family. This place will always be home to me and my family.”
