Sewer District

Everyone who is getting bilked by the LRSD needs to be at the meeting this Saturday at 9 a.m. in North Webster.

The underhanded methods of these people pushing through the sewer project are totally wrong and unethical. There has been no notices of public meetings of the Lakeland Regional Sewer District posted in the past year. It was our understanding that no decision had been made and a large portion of the local people did not support it.

Affording it is another thing. Most of us are barely getting by week to week due to the economic situation. The high rollers like David Doctor don't care about your average joe. Who is he to speak for myself and my neighbors and what we need or want?

The only problem I see with the public meeting this Saturday will be the manner in which questions will be asked. Will it be like the last meeting at North Webster where you have to put your question on a piece of paper and wait in line? The members answering questions at that meeting made sure those who were "nay" on the sewer project were pretty much squashed.

I find the timing of this meeting curious. Is it because this is the last holiday weekend for the "lakers" and they hope to have a strong showing from them? Most of these folks are only around four months out of the year, and even though they pay taxes on their second lake homes, they do not support the community all year around.

Local friends and neighbors, be at the meeting and make your voice be heard. We don't need the LRSD making decisions for our money.
