Second Readers Night Out Event To Support Warsaw Community Public Library

Posted

After helping to raise money to support the Friends of the Library and the Community Fund, Mallory Bartel, Kaci Scheve and Julia Porter are organizing a second event thanks to Molly Hollar and The Falling Rabbit.
“As a small business owner, I believe libraries are essential because they create informed, connected communities where people and local businesses can thrive,” said Hollar, who is making this event possible.
The library was denied a bond earlier this spring and is seeking donations for capital improvements including renovations to the Warsaw Community Public Library for safety, accessibility and to keep up with the repairs that the building will continue to need.
After the success of the first event, a book sale at Barn 1880, the community has been asking when and what the next event would be.
On Wednesday, July 29 from 5 to 7 p.m., book lovers and community members (21 and over) can come to The Falling Rabbit to a book swap, and attendees can purchase sweet treats from The Sweet Exchange and Good Neighbor Bakery, with proceeds going to the capital improvement fund. The Falling Rabbit will be offering a mango mojito (with or without alcohol) with $1 from each cocktail going to the library fund. This will be available all week for those who can’t join on the 29th. Guests will also be able to enter giveaways with things like signed copies from bestselling authors and items from other local businesses.
Other business owners like Glam Boutique’s Michelle Smith LeDrew also are supporting this cause.
“We believe a strong community is built by investing in the places that bring people together, inspire learning, and create opportunities for every generation,” LeDrew said. “Our local library is a hub for education, creativity, connection, lifelong learning and so much more.”
To further support this event and the library, Glam Boutique is donating 10% of their sales on July 29. “We are honored to help support this incredible resource and give back to an invaluable community cornerstone,” LeDrew said.
