The following is the second part of my booklist on the subject of secession, for those readers of the Times-Union who are interested in doing their own research.
Part one listed 12 sources of information readily available within our county. This letter will list a further dozen most of these books can be found at the Warsaw Public Library, while the remainder can be found at Amazon.com or through Google search. I have also included a definition of secession that I developed based on some of those sources of information.
Definition of Secession
Secession is the act and/or process where the ruling elite(s) and or residents in a part (a group of or a single nations(s), colony(ies), state(s), city(ies), or territory(ies) of a political union (league, federation or empire)) decide whether for the right or wrong reasons to formally withdraw from that union through peaceful and/or violent means on their own initiative by renouncing their allegiance to the authority of the central government and/or the rest of the union, their intention of becoming a free self-governing entity, and beginning the formation of an independent country and its subsequent institutions.
