Heather Reichenbach will continue to lead the Warsaw School Board as she was re-elected president during an organizational meeting Monday.
Matt Dick will serve another year as vice president, with Jeremy Mulligan as board secretary. Board member Randy Polston previously was secretary.
The board’s meeting dates and times for 2018 were approved. Generally, work sessions are the second Tuesday of every month at 4 p.m., with the regular meeting at 7 p.m. the following Monday, with some exceptions. Executive sessions are scheduled for an hour before every meeting.
The last item the board voted on was a resolution approving 13 items.
It named April Fitterling as the Warsaw Community Schools treasurer and Shannon Ebbinghouse as deputy treasurer.
Lori Tilden was reappointed executive secretary to the school board. The copy fee for records obtained through Tilden is 10 cents per page.
The resolution names the officers and members of the Board of Finance the same as the officers and members of the school board.
Board member base compensation for 2018 “shall not exceed $2,000 per year plus a per diem rate of $112 for a regular board meeting and $62 for a committee meeting, all of which shall not exceed the total compensation cap established by” Indiana Code, the resolution states.
Cash management services for 2018 will be provided by one or more of the following: Lake City Bank, 1st Source Bank and/or Teachers Credit Union, all of Warsaw. One or more of these institutions also will be the primary but not exclusive investment institution for WCS, the resolution states.
Two legal counsels were appointed to serve the board – Warrick & Boyn LLP and Reed and Earhart, Attorneys at Law, P.C.
The Times-Union was designated for the year for the advertisement of legal notices to the public.
The resolution establishes the mileage rate reimbursement will be the IRS rate effective Jan. 1 of 54.5 cents per mile. Meal reimbursement rates were set as $40 per day, including tax and up to a 15 percent tip.
For substitute teachers directly employed by WCS, the daily rate will vary depending on the teacher’s credentials levels and number of days serving as a substitute.
The last item of the resolution was the approval of bond amounts for the corporation treasurer ($250,000), deputy treasurer ($150,000), high school extracurricular treasurer ($50,000) and 11 other extracurricular treasurers ($15,000).
