Sandra Sue Keener passed away Oct. 1, 2013. She was born Jan. 14, 1941, in Warsaw, to Dale and Juanita Warner. She will be remembered as a loving mother and sister and a caring nurse. Her biggest fear was not being able to provide for her two boys. She worked three jobs, went to school and received her nursing degree from Purdue University while caring for her sons Kim and Kerry “Pete.” She received the love and admiration of every person she met. Her giving spirit transcended her daily life. She worked as a nurse for over 50 years at Plymouth General Hospital, Elkhart General Hospital, the Ask-a-Nurse program and many other locations even after retirement. Even in death she helped others by being an organ donor. Surviving are her two sons, Kim (and spouse Pat) Keener and Kerry “Pete” (and spouse Terri) Keener; three sisters: Darlene (and spouse Larry) Speigle, Wendy (and spouse John) Kimpel, and Marsha (and spouse Steve) Schmitz; daughter-in-law Sue Keener; grandchildren Aryn, Michael, Rachel, Sam and Maggie; great-granddaughter Dixie; and many nieces and nephews. She had many loving friends. Services will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Aloha, 937 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is entrusted with arrangements. ***** Condolences may be sent via mchattonsadlerfuneralchapels.com
