BOURBON – Sandra J. Swihart, 71, Bourbon, went to be with the Lord at 12:21 a.m. March 11, 2015, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. She was born April 17, 1943, in Pulaski County, to Raymond A. and Berniece Hall Nitzschke. On Jan. 26, 1964, she married Earl Swihart, who survives. She was a 1961 graduate of Bourbon High School. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Bourbon Bible Church. She had also worked at Light and Life Bindery, Winona Lake, and worked as a janitor for the Triton School Corporation. She loved gardening, flowers, making crafts and sewing; she was noted for her artistic ability in paintings. Also surviving are her son, Brad (and spouse Stephanie) Swihart, Warsaw; two grandchildren, Brittany (and spouse Jeremy) Larson and Jaren (and spouse Chassidy) Swihart; a stepdaughter, Taryn Whetstone; and four great-grandchildren: Michael and Meaka Swihart and Hunter and Mallory Larson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers and an infant sister. Services will be at 10:30 am. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with Pastor Larry Goss of Bourbon Bible Church officiating. Burial is in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
