Samuel Hatcher, 68, of Warsaw, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Sept. 2, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Partridge, Ky., to Rueban and Mary Shepherd Hatcher. On June 29, 1972, he married Ellen Smith, who survives.
Living his adult life in Warsaw, he was a member of Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw. He formerly worked as a polisher at Zimmer Inc. He enjoyed serving the Lord and spending time with his family.
Also surviving are his children: Melinda Hodges, Elkhart; David (and spouse Sandy) Hatcher and Mary (and spouse Dale) Shepherd, all of Warsaw; Timothy Hatcher, Akron, Ohio; Melisa (and spouse Don) Stevens, North Manchester; and Michelle Hatcher, Lakeville; brothers and sisters: Betty Berkey, Warsaw; Joyce Ellerbee and Linda Cardwell, both of Tennessee; George (and spouse Betty) Hatcher and Clearence Hatcher, all of Warsaw; and Nick (and spouse Mary) Hatcher, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, with Pastor Lewis Wedstel Shepherd officiating.
Calling is from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
