'Sal' Bertha Lucille Shell Bugher

“Sal” Bertha L. Bugher passed away at 7:25 p.m. May 4, 2013, in her Yuma, Ariz., residence.
She was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Huntington County, Polk Township,  to David and Myrtle Shell. On Feb. 24, 1940, she married Wilmer K. Bugher, who preceded her in death.
She was a surgical nurse in many of the Indiana communities they lived in. She also was actively involved in church and community services.  They raised a daughter, Judy. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and finally settled in Yuma.
She enjoyed 11 great-grandchildren who survive her.  Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Dick (and spouse Peggy) Bugher; a sister-in-law, Maxine (and spouse Phil) Stouder; a son-in-law, Terry (and spouse Debbie) Frank; and two grandsons, Tad Frank and Kelly (and spouse Traci) Frank. In 1994, she lost her daughter and 16 months later lost her husband.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. May 24 at Leesburg United Methodist Church, 111 W. Prairie St. Burial will be in Crystal Cathedral Gardens, Los Angeles, Calif.
