I just wanted to express my deep and heart-felt sadness in hearing of the death of my dear friend Ruth Anne Maddox.
When I was a cub news director at WRSW in 1993, it was Ruth Anne who sat next to me at all of the board meetings and hearings to help teach me the ropes and introduce me to the people we were covering. She had a very direct style, and I don't remember ever wondering what she was thinking and I liked that.
We'll let due process run its course, but in the mean time we'll mourn the loss of a really good person and a very well-respected reporter.
To my Times-Union friends, my heart is heavy and I share your grief.
