Sadie Bays, 67, North Manchester, passed away at 9:33 p.m. Aug. 13, 2016, in her residence. She was born Aug. 5, 1949, in Floyd County, Ky., to Amon and Mary Compton Prater Sr. On May 2, 1968, in Packerton, she was united in marriage to Frank Bays, who preceded her in death Feb. 27, 2012. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she worked as a self-employed beautician. She was a member of Free United Baptist Church, Warsaw, and helped with Whitley County 4-H Club for years. Surviving are one daughter, Joni (and spouse Brian) Westerberg, North Manchester; two grandchildren, Justin and Jacob Westerberg, both of North Manchester; her sister, Linda (and spouse Glen) Hughes, Mentone; one niece, Amy (and spouse Jeff) Likes, Columbia City; one nephew, Glen (and spouse Erica) Hughes Jr, Mentone; two great nieces, Tiffany Simcox and Bailey Hughes; one great nephew, Hunter Hughes; her brother-in-law, Rolland Shepherd, Warsaw, and three special friends: Chris Westerberg, Goldie Goble and Delilah Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Judy Shepherd. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastors Luther Bailey and Glenn Hall officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
