COLUMBIA CITY - Ruth Marie Linville, 90, died Aug. 30, 2008, in Wright Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Fairborn, Ohio.

She was born Aug. 17, 1918, to Fred and Weltha Goldie Gebert. In 1936, she married Frank W. Hoffman, who preceded her in death. She later married George Linville, who preceded her in death.

Formerly of Kosciusko County, she lived on a farm in Whitley County until moving to Whitley Trailer Court, South Whitley, in 1987. In July 1996, she moved to the nursing home. She was a 1936 Pierceton High School graduate. She was a homemaker and worked at Eckrich Co., Fort Wayne, and Fibre Form Corp., Columbia City, in the 1960s. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and attended United Brethren and United Methodist churches.

Surviving are a son, Wayne Hoffman, Bell Center, Ohio; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two grandsons, a sister and a brother.

A graveside service will be at South Park Cemetery, Columbia City, following calling from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City.
