NORTH WEBSTER – Ruth Lavonne “Vonnie” Wiggs, 81, Warsaw, passed away at 8:40 p.m. Dec. 21, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Sept. 27, 1933, in Hancock County, Ky., to Jasper L. and Mary Audeline Staples Pearson. On Nov. 15, 1952, in North Webster, she married Donald J. “Bud” Wiggs ,who preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1997. She was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident and graduated in 1951 from North Webster High School. She retired in 1999 after 25 years with Dekko Heating Technologies Inc., North Webster. She was a former member of the North Webster American Legion Auxiliary # 253 and Senior Citizens Group of North Webster. Surviving are a daughter, Dee (and Jim Mort) Stephens, Pierceton; two granddaughters, Amber (and spouse Travis) Kinney, and Ashley (and spouse Jason) Baker, all of Warsaw; a great-grandson, Jaxon Kinney; and a brother, Ronald (and spouse Liz) Pearson, Leesburg. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Kimberly Stephens; a grandson, Jake Stephens; a sister, Faye Gross; and two brothers, Jim and John Pearson. Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Pastor Byron Kaiser, United Methodist Church, North Webster, officiating. Private burial will be in Oswego Cemetery near Leesburg.
