ELKHART – Ruth Irene Brown, 96, Elkhart, died Jan. 6, 2015, at home. She was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Warsaw. On June 6, 1943, she married F. Eugene Brown, who preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1982. Surviving are several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She also was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold Emmett and Edith Vanator Shepler; four brothers and three sisters: Ralph Shepler, Howard Shepler, Bertha Boyle, Lois Clabaugh-Carlson, Floyd Shepler, Mary Jane Shepler and Charles Shepler. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart. Private family burial will take place at Rice Cemetery. Calling is at noon Sunday at the funeral home.
