Royce A. Lenfestey, 68, Warsaw, died at 3:06 a.m. May 27, 2013, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Marion, to Earl and Gwenevere Powell Lenfestey. On March 19, 1973, in Pierceton, he married Cathy J. Kneeland, who survives in Warsaw.
He graduated from Mississinewa High School, Gas City, in 1963.
He entered the U.S. Navy Sept. 11, 1963, and served in the Vietnam War. ADRAN Lenfestey was honorably discharged Sept. 6, 1967. Living most of his life in the Warsaw area, he was a lineman for Guardian in Ligonier. He was a member of American Legion Post 49. He immensely enjoyed shopping for anything that had suped-up engines; he worked on the numerous vehicles he owned; enjoyed shopping for guns and hunting in general; raised and showed Satin Rabbits all over the United States; enjoyed racing in general but especially NASCAR where he was a Kasey Kahne follower and those who in the past drove Dodges; in his younger years he participated in drag racing; enjoyed lake activities and times spent in Holden Beach, N.C.; was a loving husband, dad and grandfather; videotaped all important family events including the first day of school for his children;
Also surviving are four sons, Ryan (and fiancee Abbie), Kyle and Bryan Lenfestey, all of Warsaw, and Shayne (and fiancee Mandy) Lenfestey, Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Heather (and spouse Chad) Stolte, Wanatah, and Mistina Lenfestey, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Cort Lenfestey, Warsaw; a sister, Wrenay (and spouse Russ) Kann, Leesburg; a sister-in-law, Peggy Lenfestey; a stepbrother, Darren Lenfestey, Gas City; and a stepsister, Lisa. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Jerel and Pete Lenfestey.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with military graveside honors conducted by Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
