Ronald L. Raber, 53, of 204 13th St., Winona Lake, died at 3:25 a.m. Jan. 14, 2010, in his residence.

He was born July 24, 1956, in Fort Wayne, to Charles Leonard and Louise Stookey Raber. On July 30, 1977, he married Rhonda K. Graff, who survives.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he was an English professor at Grace College, Winona Lake, also teaching at IPFW, Bethel and St. Francis colleges. He was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church.

Also surviving are his father, Charles Raber; three daughters: Brandi (and spouse Tim) Wright, Winona Lake; Nicole (and spouse Micah) Nightingale, and Brittney (and spouse Matt) Abernethy, all of Warsaw; a son, Nathaniel (and spouse Kelly) Raber, Winona Lake; a sister, Linda (and spouse Rick) Wallace, Mishawaka; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lake View Cemetery, Silver Lake. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, with Pastors Bruce Barlow, Charles Ashman and Dr. John Teevan officiating.

Calling is an hour prior to service and again after the memorial service until 6 p.m. at the church.
